Seismic 5.0: The Premier Boutique House & Techno Festival

After attending the past two editions of Seismic Dance Event, the festival has easily become one of our favorites. There’s something so special about a boutique festival that caters to a tighter range of genres for the music lovers most passionate about them. We hardly have to twist any arms when convincing our friends to come experience the magic for themselves!

Seismic 5.0 Logistics

This November 11-13, we’re beyond excited to return home to Seismic 5.0 in Austin, Texas. The festival will once again take place at The Concourse Project, which was recently nominated for DJ Mag’s Best Large Club, and boast three stages spanning across the festival grounds. We’re big fans of the setup: a warehouse plus the two additional stages built with specifications meant to enhance the acoustic experience while minimizing sound bleed.

Another thing we love about Seismic is its commitment to sustainability, evident in its partnership with Bye Bye Plastic to separate waste, compost, and recycling onsite. We don’t always see the effort made at venues, and it’s nice to feel like we’re still doing our part while at a festival!

Finally, we’ve watched the art installations and small touches in overall aesthetics improve over each edition, so we’re really looking forward to what we’ll find onsite this year. Hopefully more light-up see-saws!

Seismic 5.0 Lineup

Festival founders Kelly Gray and Andrew Parsons continue to pull together an incredible and diverse lineup. We love that they mix it up each edition and book talent that we rarely see on lineups but that absolutely deserve to be there.

We also find ourselves discovering new names that turn into some of our favorite artists each year. Can’t wait to see who we discover this time!

With that being said, here are a few of our must-see artist recommendations:

Miguel Bastida

Miguel Bastida caught our attention with his unique production style and Spanish influence heard in many of his tracks. We really like his signature groove and the synths he deploys, heard in one of his latest releases, “Johna Tones.” Check out the track below!

Nala

Since being signed by Dirtybird Records this past year, Nala has blown up in the house scene and has no sign of slowing down. She recently started her own femme-dominant label Mi-Domina with the intent of merging punk rock with underground electro. We are big fans of her powerful, rebellious, and infectious spirit when she’s behind the decks and are hoping to hear some new tunes dropped at Seismic! Get a taste below!

Kevin De Vries

One of our new favorites after becoming obsessed with Tale of Us’s label, Afterlife, Kevin De Vries is an artist we are especially excited to see on the lineup. His unmistakable sound combines the power of techno with the euphoria of trance, creating something where time seems to stop. We can’t wait to dance to this one below:

Grab your ticket here and come experience the magic Kelly and Andrew have created with Seismic!
