SEISMIC DANCE EVENT 6.0 RECAP

We aren’t sure how each edition of Seismic can be better than the last, but it happened again this past weekend at Seismic Dance Event 6.0. Each edition they bring new artists we haven’t seen before (that are top on our list of must-sees) and increase the production level. We were so happy that Real Music Events curated another incredible event that will keep us wanting to come back time and time again.

Favorite Sets at Seismic 6.0

Mau P

Mau P was our first set at Seismic and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the fest! His energy was high and he dropped his new song “Dress Code” which was epic hearing for the first time live. He also dropped one of our favorite songs by Pavel Petrov and Rafael Cerato while mixing in some pop songs, which is hard to do successfully. The crowd was eating it up.

Anfisa Letyago

This was one of our first times stepping into the Volcano Stage and we were instantly blown away by the production. There is something so powerful about techno music but it’s even more powerful coming from a beautiful, bad ass female producer. Anfisa sent us on a journey her entire set and the crowd was completely mesmerized.

Franky Wah

The third day of a festival can be a tough one, but this guy got us out the door and on time to his set with ease. We saw him play at Coachella by accident earlier this year, and this time, he was at the top of our list. Franky Wah has a way of building tension through melodic grooves and melting it away with hot and heavy basslines. His mixing is impeccable!

Festival Layout and Design

The last edition we went to, the Realm stage was located further back behind the Tsunami stage. There was some sound bleed and it was a bit of a muddy mess to get back there. This year the Realm stage was located in a tent directly next to The Volcano stage. At first we thought this was weird but there was no sound bleed from either of the stage and having a tented structure made for a more secluded, intimate experience!

We love our lasers (who doesn’t) and Seismic did not skimp out this year. Both the Tsunami and Volcano stage production was unbelievable. Dancing in the rain with your friends is fun enough as it is but seeing the droplets of water sparkle through laser beams above your head is magical.

We were bummed this year did not have our favorite Deep Eddy brand activation but we spent time checking out the shops this year instead. There were a bunch of great festival accessory and clothing brands to take home something unique and physical to commemorate the weekend.

The Vibes at Seismic

One thing we love about Seismic is the people. When you get these smaller boutique festivals, most the people are there for the music. The people are super respectful, look out for one another, and want everyone to have the best time possible. Gift giving is the norm – you will most likely go home with some new kandi, stickers, mini hands, ducks, or finger puppets.

Until Next Time

Luckily Seismic happens twice a year so you don’t have to wait too long to come back! With a stellar lineup, incredible production, intimate vibes, and loving people – we know we will be back! We hope to see you there! Keep up to date on the spring dates, the lineup, and all things Seismic Dance Event via their Instagram and website.
