CRSSD Fest Comes Alive Again in Spring 2020

The 2020 spring edition of CRSSD Festival returns to Waterfront Park in San Diego on March 7th and 8th, and I don’t think California is ready. Imagine yourself on the coast of Southern California. The sun is setting as you hear the sultry synths of Rüfüs Du Sol’s “Innerbloom,” raising goosebumps on your skin. You look around and notice you are surrounded by beautiful people smiling with the orange glow of the sun on their faces. You might be crying at this point or at least wondering if this is real life. Welcome to CRSSD Festival.

CRSSD Festival

The CRSSD lineup boasts some of our classic, all-time favorites (Rufus du Sol, Chris Lake, Charlotte de Witte), and some of our newly-discovered or first-time sees (Soulwax, Sacha Robotti, Gesaffelstein). After recently moving out to the SoCal area and seeing the festival grounds, I can’t imagine a more perfect place to host the most stellar lineup. Youngsters stay at home, though; this event is 21+.

CRSSD 2020 Must-See Artist Recommendations

We mentioned them briefly, but let’s dive a little deeper into why you shouldn’t miss some of these artists.

CRSSD Festival Spring Lineup

Gesafflestein

After only a brief glimpse of his set while working Coachella (and still dubbing it one of my favorites of the weekend), I am making it a priority to see Gesafflestein at CRSSD. It’s hard to describe the phenomenon that is Gesafflestein, but I will try my best to put it into words. He is a man covered in what appears to be a full, liquid black, metallic suit (techno AF). Is he human? We are not sure, but if his music doesn’t transport you to another dimension, the force field of lasers will.

Chris Lake

For obvious reasons. Have we ever been disappointed by a Chris Lake set? No. Chris Lake guarantees an entire set of music that will free your mind, free your soul, free your body. Find us on the floor, blown away as usual.

Patrick Topping

Talk about freeing your soul. If you want to do it properly, you cannot miss Patrick Topping. You are probably already familiar with his most popular song on Spotify, “Be Sharp Say Nowt,” whether you know it or not. We saw him for the first time at Movement Detroit this past year, and it was one of our favorite sets of the weekend.

Sacha Robotti

This guy’s logo may incorporate a sloth, but the vibes at his sets are always super high-energy as he unleashes banger after banger. This will be my first time seeing him, but Claudia can confirm he’s given an underrated performance both times she’s seen him. Hot tip: stick around after his set for the sloth stickers.

Soulwax

We only know one Soulwax song, and it’s their remix of Marie Davidson’s “Work It.” This is enough to get us to their stage for their set. Supported and played out by Chris Lake and Justin Martin, we can’t wait to hear this live from the genius creators themselves! Give it a listen below.

CRSSD Festival Spring Expectations

Some of our friends claim CRSSD to be one of their favorite festivals, so we can’t wait to see what it’s all about. We are stoked to see all of the incredible talent on the lineup and groove alongside our fellow techno and house heads. If that weren’t enough, San Diego is so beautiful, and it’s a destination to experience in itself! We’re excited to explore the city while we’re in town.
