Global Dance Festival: Denver’s Signature Summer Festival

Denver, Colorado, without a doubt, books some of the best talent in music in the world. The incredible music scene is one reason I can’t imagine moving away anytime soon! That being said, it’s no surprise that Global Dance Festival is bringing a diverse and stacked lineup to Sports Authority Field on July 20-21st this year.

Artists to Watch

Adventure Club

Adventure Club are always a duo to look out for. It seems like all they’ve known is success. My first time seeing them was in 2015 at Lollapalooza, which was actually my first music festival ever. You can imagine how magical that experience was, especially being with Casey and spotting her crying during “Crave You.” I’d never seen anyone have such an emotional reaction to music! Since then, every Adventure Club performance has delivered good vibes with a hint of nostalgia.

Savoy

I saw Savoy at HARD Red Rocks in 2016 for the first time without knowing about them beforehand. I was so blown away by their performance! The live-instrument elements of the group’s performance were full of energy and electricity. I’ve had my eye on them since and will definitely be catching them throw down at Global Dance Fest this year.

Bijou

One artist I’ve been dying to see live is the G-house mastermind Bijou. I’ve listened to a ton of his past sets, and I’m stoked to finally be in the crowd for one. His sound is so different—just try not to get down to his beats! The perfect example is one of his latest tracks, “Revelation.”

Two Friends

A final highlight on my must-see list is Two Friends, an American DJ duo known for their fun, feel-good tunes. I’m anticipating the vibes at their set to match the music—what could be better than dancing around to upbeat melodies in warm weather with your festival squad? Get a taste with their remix of “Mr. Brightside.”

Bigger and Better

The 16th production of Global Dance Festival promises larger festival grounds, more stages, carnival rides (sign me up twice!), and other treats. Considering Denver doesn’t currently host any large EDM festivals during its warmer seasons, the growth of Global Dance Festival since its inception has been significant and exciting for everyone involved in the music scene.

I’ve had (arguably more than) my fair share of nights out at Red Rocks and other music venues in the city. However, this year will be my first time attending Global Dance Festival. I’ve heard good things, but I’m really curious about the level of production the fest will immerse me in.

As with nearly all activities that take place in Colorado, Global Dance Festival will party on, rain or shine. Tickets have already reached the tier 3 price point, so get on them before they sell out!
